Can I use my Superannuation funds to pay for surgery?
Early Release of Superannuation is one avenue that some patients are able to access funding for surgery on compassionate grounds.
The ATO provide guidelines that are not always adhered to by medical practitioners.
At Brisbane General & Obesity Surgery, we strive to function within regulations and ethics, whilst advocating for your best interests.
Any patient who wishes to use Early Release of Superannuation to fund for their surgery, will be required to complete a form with our practice to express their wish to do so, and will be provided all of the relevant reading materials that outline the ATO regulations as well as implications on Tax and Superannuation balance.
Your request will then be considered by us, in accordance with ATO regulations and a decision made whether or not you meet ATO guidelines.
